Understanding the WordPress Tools Tab
The Tools Tab houses several utilities that can help you manage your website more effectively. It’s where you can import and export data, erase personal data, check site health, and more.
Available Tools
The ‘Available Tools’ section provides access to various miscellaneous tools. The available tools might vary depending on your WordPress configuration and the plugins you have installed.
Import
The ‘Import’ section is where you can import content into your website. WordPress can import content from several types of file and content management systems, including RSS, CSV, and other WordPress sites.
Export
The ‘Export’ section is where you can export your website’s content. You can choose to export all content, or only specific types of content, like posts, pages, or media.
Site Health
The ‘Site Health’ section provides information about your website’s health and performance. It can help you troubleshoot performance issues and identify potential problems.
Export Personal Data and Erase Personal Data
These two tools are designed to help you comply with privacy laws like the GDPR. ‘Export Personal Data’ allows you to export a user’s personal data upon their request. ‘Erase Personal Data’ allows you to erase a user’s personal data upon their request.
